Martha Mwangome
I am currently serving as the assistant
to the chair in the advisory board. I joined MTG in 2005 when I moved
to work in Kilifi. I share very much in the vision and mission of MTG
believing in empowering girls and women with skills and knowledge as
they look forward to the future. Football is a perfect tool in
fulfilling this mission and I should know, I played football in both
my primary and secondary school years (number 5). It creates in the
girls an attitude of " tunaweza", a competitive spirit and
discipline. All these are skills that are transferable to other
aspects of their lives including academics and enterprise.
When not working with MTG, I am busy with my field work or
data analysis. I am hoping to complete my PhD studies in 2012. I am a
Kilifi girl with a passion for Kilifi girls. I participate in career
talks in the local schools and volunteer my time to working with
other local organizations. I love to chat, laugh and sleep... and
have very intense and interesting discussions on current affairs. I
am very interested in other peoples points of views on different
issues, you can say I am just a curious person!
